Garlic Girl is on a mission to find pieces that feel personal and are made to last forever.

GGV is a small, community-driven business in the heart of Adams Morgan. We’re looking for a social media and marketing associate to take our established brand identity and increase our digital reach through social media (particularly Instagram) and a newsletter. The ideal candidate is proactive, creative, communicative, and ready to try something new. This is a new position to help us gear up for the busy holiday season.

Garlic Girl Vintage enthusiastically supports human creativity. Candidates who use AI in their application or work will not be considered.

This position reports to owner Vanessa Pius.

What you’ll do each week

· Build and execute social media content calendar fulfilling different content pillars

· Plan, produce, capture, edit, and post still and video content for social media and digital use

· Build email subscriber base and increase Instagram following through organic outreach, prioritizing users likely to convert to customers

· Design and write a bimonthly newsletter highlighting events, vendors, and especially exciting finds

· Periodically update garlicgirlvintage.com

· Collaborate with owner on strategy and content concepts

What we’re looking for

· 3+ years proven experience in social media focused on content creation and organic audience growth

· Strong product and lifestyle photography skills

· Strong short form videography skills

· Strong copywriting skills that adapt to brand voice

· Strong understanding for social media analytics

· Fluency in Instagram and TikTok trends

· Proficiency with Canva, Squarespace, and social media scheduling platforms

· Experience with influencer and/or UGC marketing is a plus

· Must be based in or near Washington, DC

· Passion for vintage and uplifting DC small businesses

· This is a contract position starting mid-October and running through January 31, 2027 with possibility to extend.
