Blackhat Strategy

Digital Marketing Account Manager

Phoenix, AZ, US$80,000-$150,000Posted 26 days ago

Job Description

The Role Isn’t for Everyone. That’s the Point.

At Blackhat Strategy, we run performance marketing for clients in the industries other agencies won’t touch- the verticals where Meta’s policies are aggressive, inconsistent, and constantly shifting.

This is not a “set it and forget it” account management job. Accounts get flagged. Ad sets get disapproved overnight with no explanation. Clients call in a panic. If that sounds stressful, this isn’t your role. If it sounds like the kind of problem you actually want to solve, keep reading.

We’re looking for an Account Manager who doesn’t rattle. Someone who can look at a flagged account, stay calm, diagnose what’s actually happening, and turn a client’s panic into confidence, because you’ve done this before and you know what to do next.

What You’ll Own

You’ll lead a three-person pod: yourself, a Sub Account Manager, and a Media Buyer. As the pod lead, you are the face of the account and the strategic backbone behind it.

  • Client relationships, start to finish — you own onboarding calls, recurring strategy and performance reviews, and every touchpoint in between
  • Retention and save conversations — when a client is nervous or considering walking, you’re the one who talks them off the ledge with a real plan, not platitudes
  • Strategic advisory — you’re not reporting numbers, you’re interpreting them and telling clients what to do next
  • Confidence under pressure — when an account gets flagged or performance dips, you’re the calm, credible voice that reassures the client and rallies your pod to fix it
  • Escalation point — every client concern that can’t be resolved at the pod level lands with you, and you resolve it

Who Thrives Here

* You’ve managed Meta ad accounts * You read performance data fluently — CTR, CPA, ROAS, frequency, conversion tracking — and translate it into plain-language strategy for clients * You stay composed when things break, because in this world, something always eventually does *
