Social Media Specialist

We're a local real estate business based in Golden, Colorado. We're looking for an organized, creative, locally-based person to run our social media and digital advertising — someone who can turn listings and local happenings into content that gets attention and generates leads.

This position requires that you live in or very near Golden, CO.

We will not be considering applicants located outside the local area, remote workers based elsewhere, or agencies/teams applying on behalf of an unnamed individual.

This is an ongoing independent contractor role, paid hourly, with hours varying month to month based on listing volume (typically 8–20 hours/week). It's a great fit for a freelance social media manager or marketing specialist who already operates as their own business and wants steady, recurring local work.

What You'll Do

• Weekly local content: Write and schedule a weekly post highlighting events and happenings in Golden, CO and the surrounding area.
• Listing ad campaigns: Design and run "Coming Soon," "Just Listed," and "Just Sold" social ads for each new listing (graphics + copy + posting/boosting on Facebook and Instagram).
• Monthly market report: Pull together a simple, shareable monthly market update (using data we provide) as a social post or short graphic.
• Custom/one-off ads: Build occasional custom ads on short notice to generate buyer or seller leads (e.g., open house promos, seasonal campaigns, "thinking of selling?" prompts).
• Monitor ad performance and suggest adjustments to improve reach and engagement.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience running Facebook/Instagram (Meta) ad campaigns — not just organic posting. Be ready to share real examples of past ad work, ideally from a local or regional business.
• Comfort with a design tool such as Canva (or similar) to create clean, on-brand graphics quickly.
• Strong writing skills — clear, upbeat, locally-flavored copy.
