DEFINITION

The Social Media Coordinator supports Cape Fear Community College’s social media presence through day-to-day content creation, scheduling, campus engagement, photography, video production, and performance tracking. Working under the direction of the Social Media Manager, this position helps maintain an active, timely, engaging, and brand-consistent presence across the College’s social media platforms.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

* Receives direct supervision from the Social Media and Communications Manager. * Exercises no supervision.

*Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:* Essential Functions:* Create, schedule, and publish social media content across College platforms under the direction of the Social Media Manager. * Develop, capture, and edit engaging short-form video, photography, graphics, Stories, Reels, and other platform-specific content while maintaining College brand standards. * Identify and capture content from classrooms, labs, events, student activities, workforce training, and other College programs and locations. * Draft social media copy and adapt messaging appropriately for different platforms and audiences. * Maintain and update the social media content calendar. * Support social media campaigns related to enrollment, academic programs, Continuing Education, workforce development, events, student success, and other College initiatives. * Monitor College social media channels, including comments, messages, mentions, and tags, and respond or escalate as appropriate. * Assist with real-time social media coverage of college events, announcements, and other high-volume periods as needed. * Coordinate with faculty, staf
