Job Description
About Doers Utah
Doers Utah is a practical conservative political organization built around the simple premise that Utah needs more “doers” and less “talkers” in elected office. We endorse and support pragmatic, results-oriented candidates in competitive primaries, and we back that commitment with data-driven outreach, independent expenditures, and a statewide grassroots network built for the long game.
The Opportunity
This is the role that gives Doers Utah a voice and a face on social media. Doers has a clear strategic framework, a growing donor base, and a track record of competitive primary wins and we need someone to turn that story into content people actually stop scrolling for. You will be the person who decides what Doers posts, designs how it looks, and builds the following that turns a name into a movement.
Working with our Marketing Specialist, you’ll run our social media channels to create content and manage the comments to build Utah Doers’ social media strategy. If you understand social media platforms, have strong visual instincts, and get satisfaction from creating something from scratch, this could be the job for you.
What You'll Own
Social Media Strategy & Channel Growth
- Own Doers' social presence across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, and TikTok and set the strategy, the posting rhythm, and the goals for each channel.
- Grow followings and engagement deliberately–study what's working, ride trends and formats early, and build a recognizable Doers presence among persuadable Utah conservatives.
- Develop channel-specific playbooks and tailor format, length, and tone to each.
- Own the content calendar and keep it moving even though slower seasons
Graphic Design & Visual Content
- Design the visuals and graphics that carry the Doers brand with a consistent, distinctive look.
- Turn the 'Doers vs. Talkers' narrative into visual formats with recurring series, memes, and campaigns, not generic graphics.
- Produce clean, on-brand assets fast, and package templates that RAB members, candidates, and volunteers can pick up and run with.
Video & Short-Form
- Shoot, edit, and publish short-form video for reels, shorts, and TikToks.
- Capture content at events, town halls, and candidate meet-and-greets, and turn it around quickly while it's still timely.
Content Writing & Community
- Write captions and copy that sound like a person
- Manage the community in the comments and DMs to turn passive followers into volunteers and advocates
- Coordinate with the Marketing Strategist to keep social messaging aligned with broader campaigns, email, and GOTV pushes.
Amplification & Reporting
- Work with the marketing strategist to turn organic posts into paid social, and help manage boosted posts and ad creative in support of list growth and GOTV goals.
- Track performance across channels: reach, engagement, follower growth, and conversion and report it back in plain language tied to Doers' OKRs.
- Feed what's resonating on social back into content, design, and messaging decisions across the team.
What We're Looking For
Required
- 2+ years running social media for a brand, campaign, organization, or creator
- Strong graphic design skills
- Hands-on video skills, especially for reels and shorts
- Platform-native fluency
- A strong writer who can produce captions and copy
- Comfort reading social analytics
- Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving team
Preferred
- Fluency with design and editing tools — Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, CapCut, or Premiere
- A passion for mission-driven work and results
- Familiarity with Utah's communities, media landscape, and culture
- Experience with paid social and boosting, or with NationBuilder or a comparable CRM
- Experience using AI tools as a force multiplier in content creation, design, or ideation
- Familiarity with Utah's political landscape and its voters
- Willingness to work in a partisan environment
- Experience in marketing, ad buying, or Meta campaigns, along with impressive work, could make this full-time
To Apply
Send a resume, a short cover letter (no more than one page), and a portfolio or links to social content you've created to the Doers Utah team at [email protected]. The cover letter should answer two questions: what does social media that actually moves Utah voters look like, and how would you build it for Doers? If you're coming from outside politics, point us to accounts or content you've grown and tell us how you'd apply that here.
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 28.0 per week
