Public Relations Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable remote Public Relations Intern/Assistant to help distribute press releases and manage media outreach lists.

This is not cold-calling or contact sourcing.

All press releases, subject lines, pitch body copy, and media contact emails will be provided to you directly. Your primary responsibility is ensuring clean, accurate email delivery. There ar some media we do not have an email for. In that case, you would need to research their email address.

This initial project involves distributing a batch of releases to approximately 150 media contacts. For the right candidate, this will turn into consistent, ongoing work over the next 6+ months as we roll out additional batches and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Send prepared pitch emails and press releases to a pre-built list of ~150 media outlets/contacts.
• Accurately customize fields (e.g., recipient name/outlet) following our clear instructions and templates.
• Update a simple tracking spreadsheet (marking status, delivery date/time, and any bounce-backs).
• Communicate daily updates on distribution progress until the batch is complete.

Requirements

• Located within the United States.
• Excellent written communication, organizational skills, and strict attention to detail (no sloppy copy-pasting or missed names).
• Reliable computer with a stable internet connection.
• Proficiency with Google Sheets / Excel and standard email platforms (Gmail/Google Workspace or Outlook).
• Responsiveness and ability to meet agreed-upon delivery deadlines.

Schedule & Hours

• Flexible hours: Complete the task on your own schedule within an agreed-upon delivery window.
• Initial Assignment: Estimated at 4 - 6 hours total to complete the first 150 sends.
• Future Scope: Regular recurring distribution batches over the next 6 months as new releases are finalized.
