Whatisup Media Position: Freelance Video Editor (Part-Time / Contract) Location: Remote Compensation: $550/month

About the Role

Hi! I'm looking for a reliable and creative freelance video editor to help turn content I film for my clients into engaging, short-form videos.

Most of the footage will already be organized and provided in the correct order, so this role will primarily focus on assembling clips, creating smooth cuts, adding captions, and incorporating background music.

I'm looking for someone who has a good eye for pacing, pays attention to detail, and can help streamline the editing process as my agency continues to grow!

Responsibilities

• Review and organize footage provided from weekly content shoots.
• Edit approximately 8 videos per week across 2–3 client accounts.
• DIY Tutorial Videos (2–3 per week): Edit 1–2 minute educational and tutorial-style videos. Clips will be provided in the correct sequence, so the main responsibility will be trimming, assembling, and creating a smooth final edit.
• Short-Form Social Media Videos (5 per week): Edit 30–60 second videos using preselected and organized clips. Responsibilities include trimming footage, adding background music, incorporating captions, and ensuring the videos flow naturally.
• Add simple text overlays, transitions, and other editing elements when needed.
• Ensure videos are formatted for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook.
• Complete edits within agreed-upon weekly deadlines.
• Make minor revisions based on feedback.

Qualifications

• Experience editing short-form social media videos.
• Proficiency in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar editing software.
• Understanding of social media video pacing and editing styles.
• Strong attention to detail, especially with captions and audio.
• Ability to follow creative direction and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Compensation & Workload

• $550 per month (ongoing freelance contract).
• Approximately 8 videos per week.
• Footage will be filmed, selected, and organized in advance.
• Flexible working hours as long as weekly deadlines are met.
• Opportunity for additional editing projects as the agency grows.
