Job Description

Title: Social Media Manager & Content Creator — Restaurant Group (In-House) Location: Birmingham, MI — in-person, traveling to stores weekly Type: Full-time, W-2 Pay: $54,000–$60,000/yr depending on experience and portfolio Apply: Through this posting — portfolio/links required, no portfolio = no interview About us We're a Birmingham-based restaurant group bringing social media in-house — no agency. Our concepts: a fast-casual brand with 13 locations across Michigan and Florida, a specialty beverage concept, an upscale full-service restaurant in Birmingham, and a new bistro in development. Brand names are shared with finalists. You'll be our person, in our stores, telling our story. How your time splits (all concepts, one person — this is the honest math) - Flagship fast-casual concept ~55% — 13 stores, the growth engine; 3–5 posts/week - Beverage concept ~15% — matcha/coffee-led, 2–3 posts/week, much of it shot on the same store visits - Upscale full-service restaurant ~20% — fewer, higher-polish posts (2–3/week): cocktails, dishes, private dining, events - New bistro ~10% normally — build-out and opening story — spiking to 40–50% in launch weeks, when the flagship drops to maintenance cadence. That trade-off is planned, not a surprise. What you'll actually do - Shoot content daily, in the stores. You're on the floor 4–5 days a week — a different location most days — not at a desk waiting for assets. Signature builds, hot proteins, matcha and coffee, cocktails and plated dishes, behind-the-scenes, staff and guest moments - Bring the ideas. Pitch at least 5 fresh concepts a week — trends spotted early, series ideas, hooks — with a running idea bank you own. We will not hand you a shot list and call it a strategy; the ideas are part of the job - Own the content calendar across all concepts on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook — planned, shot, posted by you, at the cadences above (not 5 posts/week × every concept — nobody can do that well) - Write captions that sell the food, not just describe it — lead with the angles customers don't already know: cooked options, health and macro content, the story behind the food - Cover catering, new items, promotions, and openings (including a new-concept launch) - Reply to comments/DMs/tags daily in brand voice; flag anything that needs an owner decision same-day - Run simple Meta/TikTok boosts behind proven posts; work with our existing video-ad tools, not replace them blind - Track what works: reach, engagement, saves/shares, follower growth, and content tied to catering inquiries and online orders — one short report a month, no fluff - Build a reusable library so every shoot feeds weeks of content - Keep the app and websites fresh: update our ordering app (banners, offers, new items, seasonal pushes, in-app discounts) and every concept's website (menus, photos, hours, locations, news) — audit each one monthly; nothing a customer sees is stale, ever - Bring ideas to the board: pitch campaign concepts, partnerships, and new formats to ownership on a regular cadence — ideas presented with a hook, a cost, and an expected result, not just posted and hoped for - Help grow catering: own the catering content engine — spreads, corporate lunch drops, holiday packages, past-client re-marketing — and work with the stores to turn the great catering reviews we already get into new corporate orders - Stay fresh on AI and the platforms: use AI tools daily (AI editing, captions, design, and ad creative — building on the video-ad tools we already run), test new platform features/formats early, and bring a short "what's new and what we should try" brief every month. If a platform changes, we hear it from you first, not last You need to have - Proof you've grown an account — a restaurant/food/lifestyle brand, or your own personal food/creator account with real growth. Years on a résumé don't substitute; links do - A portfolio of Reels/TikToks you shot and edited yourself — send links - Your own ideas: bring 10 ready-to-shoot concepts to the interview, built for the concept types described above (brands themselves are shared with finalists). Generic trend recaps don't count — they have to fit our food - Fluent in CapCut/Premiere, Canva, Meta Business Suite; comfortable shooting on iPhone and camera - Comfortable updating a website and an ordering app back-end (menus, banners, offers) — you don't need to code, you do need to not be scared of a CMS - Actually use AI tools in your workflow today — name them at the interview and show what you make with them - Confident enough to stand in front of ownership and pitch an idea — and take a no without going quiet - Reliable car and love of being in stores — you're in a different store most days, talking to crews and guests - The discipline to shoot daily and post on schedule without being chased Don't apply if you only do strategy, only work remote, need a team to make content for you, or wait to be told what to post. Benefits: Free meals, mileage for store travel, phone/content budget.

Pay: $54,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
