Farmers Defense makes protective gear for people who grow things: sleeves, gloves, sun hoodies, and more. We are an 8-figure DTC brand with a small, fast team on the California coast, serving farmers, gardeners, ranchers, and outdoor workers who need real protection that feels good to wear.

The Opportunity

Our social channels deserve more than we can give them. You will be our first in-house creator. You will shoot and publish short-form content every week from inside the business: real products, real people, real dirt. You own the execution of our organic calendar across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, feed our ads team a steady stream of raw footage, and keep the marketing engine organized behind the scenes. You will make things daily, publish constantly, and watch your work compound.

Reporting Structure

You report to our Creative Production lead day to day. You will work side by side with our video editor, our creator operations manager, and our customer service team. Creative strategy sets the angles and the calendar; you bring them to life and propose your own.

Core Responsibilities

• Publish native short-form content (30%). Shoot, cut, and publish 5+ posts per week per priority channel across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Daily capture around the building: product, behind the scenes, team, packing, seasonal moments. Zero dead weeks.
• Feed the footage bank (20%). Deliver 15+ usable, tagged raw clips per week that our paid ads team can cut into ads.
• Grow organic reach (20%). Keep each channel's reach and engagement trending up. Reply to comments and DMs in our voice, and route support questions to the right team same day.
• Turn organic winners into paid tests (15%). Flag your best-performing posts for the ads team and repurpose winning paid angles back into organic formats.
• Marketing admin reliability (15%). Close assigned marketing admin tasks within 48 hours: asset organization, promo setup support, reporting pulls, sample logistics for shoots. Zero dropped balls.

Required Qualifications

Non-negotiables

• You shoot and edit short-form video fast (CapCut or similar) and have the posts to prove it
• You can be on site in Watsonville, CA 3 to 4 days per week, reliably
• You have personally run or grown at least one social account
• You are organized enough to own a posting calendar and never drop a ball

Strong preferences

• You have made content for a product brand (physical products you can hold)
• You are comfortable on camera, or great at getting other people comfortable on camera
• You have a background in Ecommerce and understanding of the ecosystem
• You garden, farm, build, or work outside, or you love the people who do

What we are NOT looking for

• A social media strategist who wants to direct instead of make
• A manager of agencies or freelancers
• Someone who needs a brief for every post

Compensation and Logistics

• Full-time, salaried: $55,000 to $75,000 per year depending on experience
• In person at our Watsonville, CA HQ, 3 to 4 days per week
• Start date: flexible for the right person
