Job Description
About the Role
We are a premier, board-certified plastic surgery practice seeking a creative and driven Social Media & Digital Marketing Manager to own our entire digital presence. This is a highly visible, hands-on role: you will develop strategy, produce content, manage our website, and grow our brand across all platforms — all from within our practice. The ideal candidate brings a passion for aesthetics, a sharp eye for visual storytelling, and a proven track record of audience growth in a luxury or healthcare-adjacent environment.
Social Media Responsibilities
*Strategy & Campaign Planning*
▸ Develop, own, and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms relevant to the aesthetic industry
▸ Build and manage monthly content calendars at least 30 days in advance, maintaining a minimum of 5–7 posts per week with at least 3 surgical/procedural posts weekly
▸ Conduct ongoing competitive research and audience analysis to spot trends and opportunities within the plastic surgery and medical aesthetics space
▸ Define and consistently uphold the practice's brand voice — aspirational, approachable, educational, and trustworthy
▸ Plan and execute promotional campaigns around seasonal specials, new service launches, events, and practice milestones
*Content Creation & Production*
▸ Plan, film, direct, and edit high-quality short-form video for Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts — with the capability to capture, edit, and publish surgical content same-day when consented
▸ Coordinate directly with the surgeon and clinical staff to document procedures, patient journeys, recovery timelines, and behind-the-scenes content — always in full HIPAA compliance
▸ Photograph procedures, results, staff, and practice culture to maintain a rich, diverse content library
▸ Design polished graphics, Story assets, promotional flyers, and branded templates using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent tools
▸ Write compelling, on-brand captions, hashtags, and calls-to-action tailored to each platform's algorithm and audience
*Community Management & Growth*
▸ Monitor and respond to all comments, DMs, and brand mentions across platforms in a timely, professional, and brand-consistent manner
▸ Build and manage influencer partnerships, patient ambassador relationships, and co-branded content opportunities
▸ Drive sustained organic follower growth through engagement strategies, trending audio/format adoption, and strategic hashtag use
▸ Coordinate giveaways, live sessions, Q&As, and other engagement-boosting activations in collaboration with the surgeon
*Paid Social & Analytics*
▸ Create, manage, and optimize paid advertising campaigns on Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok — including audience targeting, creative testing, and budget management
▸ Track and report weekly and monthly KPIs: reach, impressions, engagement rate, follower growth, link clicks, and patient inquiry volume attributed to social
▸ Use performance data to continuously refine content strategy, posting cadence, and paid spend allocation
Website & Digital Marketing Responsibilities
*Website Management & Content*
▸ Maintain, update, and optimize the practice website (WordPress or equivalent CMS), including procedure pages, physician bio, photo galleries, and patient resources
▸ Publish a minimum of two SEO-optimized blog posts per month targeting high-value keywords (procedure names, recovery FAQs, local search terms)
▸ Keep before-and-after photo galleries current, properly categorized, and compliant with signed patient consent documentation
▸ Coordinate with developers or external agencies for larger technical projects, site redesigns, or platform integrations
*SEO & Online Reputation*
▸ Implement and maintain on-page SEO best practices across all website content to improve organic search rankings for priority procedures and local keywords
▸ Monitor and respond professionally to patient reviews on Google, RealSelf, Yelp, and Healthgrades — escalating concerns to management as appropriate
▸ Maintain and regularly update the practice's Google Business Profile, including photos, posts, hours, and service descriptions
*Email Marketing & CRM*
▸ Design and distribute monthly email newsletters featuring promotions, educational content, provider spotlights, and practice news
▸ Build and manage automated email sequences for consultation follow-ups, post-operative engagement, and seasonal campaigns
▸ Manage patient email list segmentation, list hygiene, and compliance (CAN-SPAM / HIPAA) within the practice's CRM or email platform
Required Qualifications
▸ 2+ years of hands-on experience in social media management and digital marketing — ideally within plastic surgery, aesthetics, med-spa, dermatology, or luxury healthcare
▸ Demonstrated portfolio of high-performing short-form video content (Reels, TikToks) that drove measurable engagement and follower growth
▸ Proficiency across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube — including a clear understanding of each platform's algorithm, format, and audience
▸ Hands-on video shooting and editing experience (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent)
▸ Experience managing a business website via WordPress or a comparable CMS, including content updates and basic SEO
▸ Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager for creating and optimizing paid social campaigns
▸ Strong written communication skills — capable of producing polished captions, blog posts, email copy, and patient-facing messaging
▸ Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations as they apply to patient photography, testimonials, and social media content
▸ Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to independently manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
▸ Direct experience working in-house for a physician, surgeon, or aesthetics practice
▸ Familiarity with RealSelf, PatientPop, Nextech, or other plastic surgery / aesthetics-specific platforms
▸ Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz
▸ Photography skills using a DSLR or mirrorless camera in a clinical or studio setting
▸ Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
▸ Working knowledge of common cosmetic procedures — breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, liposuction, facelift, injectables — or a strong, demonstrable eagerness to learn
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
▸ Full-time, on-site position; occasional flexibility for remote editing at the discretion of management
▸ Regular presence within the clinical environment — including procedure rooms and the operating suite — to capture real-time content; comfort with surgical settings and medical imagery is required
▸ May require occasional evening or weekend availability for events, time-sensitive promotional posts, or live coverage
▸ Prolonged periods of computer work, photography/videography, and light physical activity (standing, moving within the practice)
▸ Exposure to confidential patient information; strict adherence to HIPAA and practice privacy policies is mandatory at all times
