Job Description
Social Media Content Specialist
Steinreich Communications · Houston, Northern New Jersey or the Piedmont-Triad area of North Carolina · Full-time
We are hiring a Social Media Content Specialist to turn creative plans into polished social content for our digital team's clients. You will film content and own the editing, design and monthly calendar production for your assigned accounts, working closely with our strategy and account teams.
Day to day, that means filming at client content sessions, cutting short-form video for Reels, TikToks and Stories, designing graphics and monthly feed layouts in Canva, writing captions and keywords in each brand's voice, and building the complete monthly content calendar for every account you own.
About Steinreich Communications
Steinreich Communications is an independent public relations and communications firm founded in 2003, with offices across the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The firm works in media relations, corporate communications, crisis, investor relations and public affairs, and its client roster spans national food and beverage, health and wellness, defense, technology, government, not-for-profit, consumer and home furnishings brands. Our Houston Digital Marketing team runs social-first content for a portfolio of local and national clients, and this role sits on that team.
About the role
Reporting to Erika Ruiz, Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing, you will manage content production and content calendar development for multiple client accounts varying in scope. This is a hands-on role combining filming, short-form video editing, graphic design and social copywriting. Our strategy team develops the direction and content plans; you bring them to life through content sessions, finished assets and organized monthly calendars. You will collaborate with the account director on internal review and communicate with clients about approvals and revisions.
What you will do
- Build monthly content calendars. Turn approved content plans and raw footage into complete calendars for assigned accounts, including edited videos, graphics, captions and assets ready for internal review and client approval.
- Film and edit short-form video. Attend client content sessions and capture footage for Reels, TikToks and Stories, then turn raw footage into finished, captioned, on-brand cuts.
- Design graphics, carousels and templates in Canva, and design each client's monthly feed layout as a whole rather than post by post.
- Write captions, hashtags and SEO keywords in each brand's voice, not your own.
- Coordinate client approvals and revisions. Share work after internal review, clarify feedback and manage updates while keeping the account team informed of changes to scope or timing.
- Maintain a cohesive visual identity. Apply each brand's guidelines with thoughtful typography, color, composition and video pacing, and check your work for accuracy and consistency before review.
- Contribute to our own social media presence. Develop ideas, film and edit content, and publish 2–4 approved posts per month on our agency's social accounts, collaborating with the team to showcase our work, people and expertise. Attend 2–3 team content sessions per year involving both photography and video.
What we are looking for:Required
- Two or more years of professional short-form social video experience, with demonstrated skills in both filming and editing across multiple brands or in an agency setting.
- Strong graphic design skills demonstrated in a portfolio, including layout, typography, color and the ability to adapt designs to distinct brand identities.
- Working proficiency in CapCut or an equivalent editor (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve) and in Canva.
- Experience writing clear, accurate social captions in different brand voices.
- Strong organization and experience managing production deadlines and revisions across multiple client accounts.
- Experience communicating directly with clients, including receiving and acting on revision notes.
- Candidates should be based in either the Houston, Northern New Jersey or Piedmont-Triad area of North Carolina in order to be close to their teams, and able to travel for select client content sessions.
Preferred
- Experience working in the Notion app.
- Experience designing a full monthly feed layout, not only individual posts.
- Experience art directing or briefing a shoot.
How we work
We are open to candidates based in the Houston, Northern New Jersey or Piedmont-Triad areas, close to the teams they will work with. You will travel for select client content sessions, and a Houston-based candidate attends the sessions for their own accounts in person. Mileage reimbursement applies to eligible travel, and required travel expenses are covered. You will balance production, feedback and revisions across multiple accounts. Content calendars typically turn around in about three days, depending on scope. Flag missing assets, competing deadlines or changes in scope early so priorities can be worked through with the account team.
Compensation and benefits
Salary range: $60,000 to $68,000 per year, depending on experience. Where a candidate lands in the band depends on editing and design range, how many accounts they can carry independently, and whether they can art direct a content session rather than only shoot it.
Benefits include
- Medical, dental and vision coverage
- 401(k) with employer match
- Short- and long-term disability and life insurance
- Paid holidays and paid time off
- A collaborative digital team with opportunities to contribute creatively across a varied client portfolio
