StudioBinder builds production management software used by filmmakers, agencies, brands, and creative teams to plan and collaborate on productions. Alongside the platform, we run one of the largest educational resources in the industry: our blog reaches 1M+ readers a month, and our social media accounts including YouTube has over 2.9M+ subscribers/followers.

The blog is how most filmmakers first discover us. Search is now splitting between Google and AI answer engines, and we intend to be the source both of them cite when creators look for answers about production.

The Role

This role is not for someone who wants to edit at a comfortable pace. If you obsess over rankings, citations, and the craft of a great article, this is the seat.

You will own StudioBinder's blog end to end: what gets published, how good it is, and how it performs in Google and in AI answers (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude).

You are a hands-on editor, not a strategist who hands the work off. You review drafts from freelance writers and graphics from our designer, send precise fix lists, and publish. You use AI to move fast, and you check everything it produces before it ships.

Then you turn what works into a system: briefs, standards, and AI workflows that let the blog publish at volume without dropping quality. You would be reporting directly to the VP of Marketing.

Responsibilities

Publishing & Quality

• Publish a minimum of 10-15 high-quality, fresh articles every week
• Review every draft and graphic before it ships, and send clear fix lists to writers and designers
• Own the publishing calendar, the pipeline, and publishing in WordPress

SEO & AEO

• Keyword and prompt research, outlines, and briefs writers can execute against
• On-page optimization, internal linking, and schema and structured data
• Test content formats and structures to learn what earns AI citations, and turn what works into standards
• Refresh existing ranking articles based on their current position, without breaking what already works

Measurement

• Track AI citations, rankings, qualified traffic, and sign-ups in SEMrush, Ahrefs, Search Console, and Google Analytics
• Review performance with management weekly and report what moved and why

Systems & AI Workflows

• Build AI workflows (Claude, ChatGPT) for research, briefs, refreshes, internal linking, and QA
• Document the editorial playbook so writers and designers hit the standard without daily check-ins

Requirements

• 3+ years in SEO, including SEO-driven editorial work (SEO editor, managing editor, or content lead)
• 1+ year actively working on AEO or AI search visibility, with shipped work you can show us: the pages, the citations they earned, and how you measured them
• A clear understanding of how answer engines retrieve and cite sources, and how to structure content so it gets cited
• Working technical SEO: structured data and schema, internal linking, crawlability and indexation, Core Web Vitals basics
• At least one quantified result you drove (citations, organic traffic, or sign-ups), with the baseline and how you measured it
• A track record of publishing at volume without letting quality slip
• Strong command of SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Rank Math or Yoast) and WordPress
• An eye for detail that extends to images, layout, and links, not just copy
• Proven ownership: you set the pace, follow up without reminders, and close loops. Steady tenure is a plus.
• Interest in filmmaking, video production, or creative tools is a strong plus

• 10-15 high-quality articles published every week, on schedule
• Measurable growth in AI citations for our core topics
• Measurable growth in organic traffic and sign-ups from the blog
• Writers and designers ship at your standard with fewer revision rounds
• A documented playbook and AI workflows that let the blog scale output without scaling headcount

Location & Compensation

• Fully remote. Must be based in California.
• $55,000 - $75,000 base salary. Final salary depends on experience, skills, and level.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
