About the Role

Boston University Admissions seeks a creative, strategic, and data-driven Digital and Social Media Marketing Manager to lead digital marketing efforts that attract, inform, and engage prospective students and their families.

The Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive digital and social media strategy that communicates the value of a Boston University education and supports recruitment and enrollment goals. This position oversees the Admissions website and social media presence, supervises student-led content development, and identifies opportunities to use emerging technologies and artificial intelligence to strengthen BU’s visibility and competitive position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, development, and maintenance of the Admissions website, which includes more than 300 pages and serves approximately two million visitors annually.
  • Develop compelling website content using text, graphics, photography, video, and other digital media.
  • Ensure website content is accurate, accessible, current, and consistent with other University communications.
  • Develop and implement social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, X, ZeeMee, and emerging platforms.
  • Create, publish, and monitor content that supports student recruitment and enrollment goals.
  • Analyze website, email, and social media performance to guide strategy and improve engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen BU’s visibility across search engines, answer engines, and AI-powered platforms.
  • Evaluate new technologies, AI tools, vendors, and industry practices that can improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with admissions and enrollment staff on digital recruitment and yield initiatives.
  • Supervise student employees who create digital and social media content for BU Admissions.
  • Manage the Admissions Staff Marketing Group and guide the development of an editorial calendar.
