Volunteer Social Media Manager

About the Role

The Volunteer Social Media Manager will support the day-to-day management of AGL’s social media presence and work closely with our Communications & Marketing team to ensure our programs, campaigns, educational content, events, and stories are communicated effectively across our digital platforms.

This role requires someone who can take ownership of assigned social media responsibilities, collaborate with the team, and help maintain a consistent and engaging online presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage AGL’s social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and YouTube, as assigned.
• Follow approved social media strategies, content calendars, campaigns, and communications plans.
• Schedule and publish approved posts, reels, videos, stories, event promotions, educational content, and other materials.
• Write and refine captions, hashtags, calls to action, and platform-specific copy when needed.
• Regularly monitor social media accounts, comments, messages, mentions, and tags.
• Engage appropriately with followers, partners, speakers, organizations, and relevant community accounts.
• Support the promotion of AGL programs, webinars, campaigns, partnerships, Community DNA Pop Ups, and other initiatives.
• Coordinate with the Communications & Marketing team, graphic designers, video editors, and other team members to ensure content is prepared and published according to schedule.
• Repurpose approved content appropriately for different social media platforms.
• Monitor social media performance, including reach, engagement, follower growth, views, clicks, and other relevant metrics.
• Identify high-performing content and provide recommendations for improving engagement and reach.
• Stay informed about relevant social media trends and recommend appropriate opportunities that align with AGL’s mission and brand.
