Marketing Strategist

Job Description
Summary
The Marketing Strategist is GVTC's in-market operator for its expansion into Marble Falls and the surrounding 281 North corridor — responsible for delivering the go-to- market plan that lets GVTC compete and win where it starts with no brand, no base, and entrenched incumbents. Working from a strategy set with the Growth, Performance & Analytics Manager, this role runs that plan on the ground and adapts it community by community: it builds local brand presence by engaging and investing in the market, wins customers through a disciplined, phased acquisition motion, and helps nurture the base for retention and ARPU growth. The Strategist is GVTC's face in the community — building the HOA, developer, chamber, ISD, civic, and local-media relationships that unlock demand — and partners with Community Relations to grow measurable brand awareness. Reporting to Growth, Performance & Analytics Manager and coordinating closely with the Lifecycle function, the Strategist executes against a single market outcome and is measured on penetration, gross adds, CAC, and retention in the markets it serves. This is a highly independent, fully remote, in-market role for a driven, data- obsessed operator with a proven record of building relationships that produce results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*The following duties are essential to this position. Other duties may be assigned.*
· Deliver GVTC's go-to-market plan in-market across the 281 North corridors, anchored in Marble Falls — executing the phased approach (pre-launch, launch, conversion, retention) set with the Growth, Performance & Analytics Manager and adapting it to each community.
· Serve as GVTC's in-market presence and local face: build and steward relationships with HOAs, developers, chambers of commerce, ISDs, city and civic leadership, community organizations, and local media that unlock access, credibility, and demand where GVTC has no existing brand.
· Build local brand presence by engaging and investing in the community — sponsorships, events, town halls, and civic participation — and partner with Community Relations to grow measurable brand awareness within GVTC's brand standards.
· Execute in-market activity across the full customer lifecycle — from acquisition through retention and ARPU growth — running the right program at each stage in coordination with the Growth and Lifecycle functions.
· Run the pre-launch demand-capture motion for each market — community landing page, address-level pre-registration, and pre-registration-to-order conversion — supporting validation of the penetration forecast before service turn-up.
· Execute in-market paid, digital, direct-mail, event, and door-to-door tactics against each market's phased plan, coordinating agency and local vendor partners and timing spend to the Ready-for-Service (RFS) schedule.
· Maintain lead-source integrity and CRM hygiene for the 281 North corridor: ensure pre-registration and campaign leads are captured, correctly sourced and tagged, and kept clean in HubSpot so acquisition attribution and reporting stay accurate.
· Manage day-to-day in-market marketing spend against the plan and budget — Agency, Local Marketing, Product Promotion, and retention lines — tracking cost-per-outcome and flagging reallocation needs to the Growth Manager.
· Coordinate in-market agency and creative/media vendor partners, ensuring local execution capacity is in place ahead of each launch.
· Partner with the Growth, Performance & Analytics function on measurement — consuming attribution and channel reporting and tracking each market against penetration, gross adds, CAC, and 90-day retention.
· Coordinate with the Lifecycle function on retention, loyalty and referral offers, product-attach and ARPU campaigns, and brand standards — executing in-market within established brand governance.
· Coordinate with outside Sales and Business Development across shared markets, with a clear boundary: this role owns residential marketing, brand, and demand generation and routes qualified SMB and enterprise interest to outside Sales; Business Development leads SMB/enterprise selling and developer/MDU commercial negotiations, which this role supports with marketing but does not lead.
· Coordinate with Engineering and the PMO on RFS timing by zone and phase, adjusting the marketing calendar as construction and permitting schedules move.
· Partner with Sales and Customer Operations to align demand with sales and install capacity at launch and ensure a clean hand-off from marketing-generated demand to sale to install.
· Maintain in-market competitive intelligence — incumbent and overbuilder pricing, promotions, and positioning — adjust local tactics accordingly, and feed learnings back to strengthen the corridor playbook.
· Contribute to the annual plan for the assigned markets in coordination with the Growth, Performance & Analytics Manager.
Success Metrics
*Performance in this role will be evaluated against the following metrics:*
· Market penetration versus business-case forecast, by market and phase.
· Gross adds and net adds against plan in assigned markets.
· Customer acquisition cost (CAC) in assigned markets.
· Pre-registration rate as a percent of homes passed, and pre-registration-to-order conversion.
· 90-day retention by source and steady-state churn in assigned markets.
· ARPU and product attach within the assigned-market base.
· Aided and unaided brand awareness lift in assigned markets over time.
Qualifications
*To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.*
· Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Three to five years of marketing experience across go-to-market, field, or community marketing, with exposure to customer lifecycle or retention marketing; telecommunications, subscription, or other recurring-revenue experience a plus.
· Demonstrated success building relationships that create business outcomes — with community, partner, HOA/developer, civic, or B2B stakeholders — ideally where the organization started without brand recognition.
· Experience supporting or contributing to a go-to-market or market-launch effort, from planning through execution.
· Comfortable working with penetration, CAC, and retention metrics and using data to guide day-to-day tactics.
· Experience coordinating agency and vendor partners and managing marketing spend against a budget.
· Highly independent and self-directed, suited to a fully remote, in-market role with limited day-to-day oversight.

Technical Skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
· Working familiarity with HubSpot or an equivalent marketing-automation / CRM platform, including basic lead and campaign hygiene.

· Familiarity with paid-media and digital-advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta) at a coordination level.
· Familiarity with Calix Engagement Cloud or an equivalent customer-engagement platform preferred, or a willingness to develop proficiency.
· Working knowledge of Internet, streaming TV, voice, and security products preferred.
