Marketing Programs Manager

US$75,000-$110,000Posted 1 day ago

Job Description

Simpler Media Group, Inc. (“SMG”) is looking for a dynamic marketing program manager to lead the strategic planning, delivery and continuous improvement of our client-sponsored virtual events, webinars and content syndication programs. You will be a key member of our client-facing delivery team, manage client program life cycles and own program delivery and process excellence.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys managing projects, nurturing relationships, solving problems, wearing many hats and cultivating expert-level B2B marketing skills.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role will be expected to take ownership of cross-functional projects, support marketing execution and contribute to the success of both external client campaigns and internal SMG growth initiatives.

To succeed, you’ll need to bring strong communication skills, a team-player mindset, curiosity and a bias toward action. This is not an entry-level role — we’re looking for someone with at least 5 years of marketing experience and an eagerness to grow.

This is a remote position, so your location is flexible; however, you must be based in and legally entitled to work in the United States.

About Us

SMG is a fully remote company with its headquarters in San Francisco. We are a fun, rapidly growing and privately funded native digital media, events and research company. Founded in 2003, today we have three online publications: CMSWire.com, Reworked.co and VKTR.com.

Our team is distributed with its HQ in San Francisco and clusters of employees in Chicago, Boston, Florida and New York. Our core mission is to advance the careers of our professional members via high impact knowledge, networking and recognition (awards).

Core Responsibilities

Program & Client Management

: You will manage the successful delivery of client-facing programs—primarily webinars and content syndication campaigns—serving as a key point of contact from kickoff through completion. This includes leading client onboarding, facilitating project alignment across internal and external teams and ensuring a seamless experience throughout. You’ll communicate directly with clients via email and video calls to provide status updates, clarify expectations and resolve issues as they arise.

A client-first mindset, attention to detail and proactive communication are essential. You’ll be expected to build strong, collaborative relationships with both clients and colleagues, ensuring that each program is executed with accuracy, professionalism and care.

Marketing Execution & Platform Operations

:

This role supports the tactical execution of marketing deliverables across both client campaigns and internal growth initiatives. You’ll work across platforms such as Marketo, Google Ad Manager and Canva to execute campaign components with precision and consistency. You’ll also contribute to copywriting, QA and adherence to brand standards.

Success in this area requires a detail-oriented approach, a willingness to learn new tools and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Intelligently and creatively using AI platforms like Claude with MCP connectors is essential to your success.

Webinar Operations & Live Event Hosting

:

You’ll play a key role in the operational planning, management and live delivery of SMG’s client webinars. Responsibilities include managing production timelines, coordinating with speakers, preparing run-of-show documentation, hosting live events and setting up the webinar platform (Goldcast). You must be comfortable and dynamic as a live day event host— guiding speakers through introductions, transitions and audience engagement to ensure a smooth, professional experience. In your hosting role you will "own the stage" and ultimately take responsibility for the live event experience.

This work requires strong organizational skills, comfort with virtual event technology and the ability to remain composed in live settings. A service-oriented mindset and strong verbal communication skills are critical.

Internal Marketing Support & Cross-Team Collaboration

:

In addition to supporting client campaigns, you will assist in the promotion of SMG’s own thought leadership, proprietary research, surveys and virtual shows. This includes helping to plan and execute multichannel marketing campaigns that drive brand engagement and audience participation across the CMSWire, Reworked and VKTR brands.

You will work closely with teams across marketing, editorial, sales and operations, contributing to both strategic planning and tactical execution. Adaptability, responsiveness and strong collaboration skills are essential to thrive in this cross-functional role.

Continuous Improvement

:

The digital world is ever-evolving and AI has accelerated this. We are an AI-forward organization and expect you to be curious and creative, constantly finding new ways to get our work done and raise the experience bar.

We love good, new ideas and expect all team members to be “heads-up” with an eye towards process improvement and tools evolution.
