Job Description

Mission Pet Health is seeking a strategic and analytically driven Director of Growth Marketing Planning & Analytics to lead the development of data-driven growth strategies across our network of veterinary hospitals.

This individual will play a critical role in identifying, quantifying, and prioritizing opportunities to accelerate client acquisition, improve retention, increase appointment conversion, and expand client lifetime value. Working at the intersection of Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Analytics, this leader will translate complex business data into actionable strategies, investment recommendations, and measurable growth plans.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence cross-functional decisions. This is not a traditional reporting role; it is an opportunity to shape how Mission identifies growth opportunities, allocates resources, and measures the impact of its marketing and client experience investments.

Key Responsibilities

Growth Strategy & Opportunity Identification

* Develop and maintain a comprehensive, data-driven understanding of Mission's primary growth drivers, including new client acquisition, existing client engagement and retention, appointment conversion, and share of client wallet. * Identify and quantify growth opportunities across hospitals, geographic markets, client segments, service lines, and stages of the client lifecycle. * Build analytical frameworks and growth models to understand the relative contribution of client volume, visit frequency, conversion, retention, and transaction economics to overall business performance. * Evaluate differences in performance across hospitals and regions to identify actionable opportunities, operational constraints, and scalable best practices. * Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to prioritize growth initiatives based on potential financial impact, investment requirements, feasibility, and time to value. * Translate growth hypotheses into structured business cases, strategic recommendations, and actionable plans. Marketing Planning & Investment Optimization

  • Lead analytical planning processes supporting annual, quarterly, and ongoing growth marketing strategy and investment decisions.
  • Develop forecasts, scenarios, and financial models to evaluate marketing investment levels, acquisition efficiency, and expected business outcomes.
  • Analyze marketing performance and investment efficiency across channels, audiences, geographic markets, and hospital segments to inform resource allocation.
  • Partner with marketing leaders to establish performance targets, identify investment opportunities, and develop plans to close gaps against enterprise growth objectives.
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve marketing productivity through audience prioritization, channel optimization, improved conversion, and stronger lifecycle engagement.
  • Connect marketing investment decisions to downstream business outcomes, including completed appointments, revenue, contribution margin, and long-term client value.

Client & Market Intelligence

* Develop a deeper understanding of Mission's clients through segmentation, behavioral analysis, lifecycle measurement, and longitudinal performance tracking. * Identify opportunities to acquire new clients based on local market dynamics, pet owner needs, competitive positioning, and hospital-level growth potential. * Analyze existing client behaviors, including visit frequency, care adherence, lapse patterns, reactivation, and lifetime value, to identify opportunities to strengthen relationships and increase medically appropriate care. * Evaluate appointment conversion and attendance performance across phone, digital, and in-hospital experiences to identify points of friction and opportunities to recover lost demand. * Assess opportunities to increase client engagement and share of wallet across pharmacy, nutrition, wellness, and other relevant service categories. * Partner with Analytics and business stakeholders to improve data availability, measurement consistency, and the organization's understanding of client and market performance. Measurement, Incrementality & Performance Analytics

* Establish measurement frameworks that connect marketing initiatives and client experience programs to meaningful commercial outcomes. * Lead the development of incrementality methodologies, including controlled experiments, holdout groups, geographic tests, and other appropriate approaches to causal measurement. * Differentiate attributed results from incremental business impact to ensure marketing effectiveness is evaluated accurately. * Develop standardized methodologies for evaluating customer acquisition cost, incremental cost per acquired client, client lifetime value, retention, and return on marketing investment. * Partner with Analytics and Finance to validate methodologies, establish consistent metric definitions, and reconcile performance findings with enterprise financial results. * Evaluate the performance of growth initiatives and provide recommendations to scale, optimize, redesign, or discontinue programs based on demonstrated impact. * Ensure leadership has clear visibility into performance trends, risks, opportunities, and the effectiveness of growth investments. Cross-Functional Planning & Executive Decision Support

* Serve as a strategic analytical partner to leaders across Marketing, Client Experience, Operations, Finance, and Commercial functions. * Translate complex analyses into clear, concise recommendations that support executive decision-making and resource prioritization. * Develop executive-level business reviews, growth opportunity assessments, investment recommendations, and performance narratives. * Facilitate cross-functional planning discussions that connect analytical findings with operational actions, enabling capabilities, and accountable owners. * Support strategic planning initiatives by evaluating alternative growth scenarios, identifying performance risks, and recommending actions to improve outcomes. * Establish repeatable processes for identifying opportunities, sizing potential impact, tracking execution, and validating realized business value. Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline. * 8+ years of experience in marketing analytics, growth strategy, commercial planning, business intelligence, management consulting, or a related field. * Demonstrated experience translating complex data into commercial strategies, investment decisions, and measurable business outcomes. * Strong financial and analytical modeling skills, including forecasting, scenario planning, ROI analysis, and opportunity sizing. * Deep understanding of acquisition funnels, customer retention, conversion optimization, segmentation, and lifetime value. * Experience developing measurement frameworks, evaluating marketing effectiveness, and applying experimental or quasi-experimental methodologies. * Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI. * Strong executive communication skills with the ability to simplify complex analyses, develop compelling recommendations, and influence senior stakeholders. * Demonstrated ability to partner across Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Analytics in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a multi-location consumer services, healthcare, veterinary, retail, or other distributed operating environment.
  • Background in growth strategy, strategic finance, marketing science, or management consulting.
  • Experience with SQL and cloud-based data environments such as Redshift or Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with CRM, customer data platforms, marketing automation, digital analytics, and paid media measurement.
  • Experience with market-level experimentation, marketing mix modeling, causal inference, or advanced customer analytics.
  • Experience supporting enterprise transformation, private equity-backed growth initiatives, or large-scale commercial performance improvement.
