B2B Marketing Strategist
Job Description
You're an experienced B2B marketer who's ready for more than managing campaigns and client deliverables. You want a bigger role in developing strategy, advising clients, and helping businesses grow.
That's the opportunity at SVM Industrial Marketing.
From day one, you'll be the primary day-to-day contact for your assigned clients. You'll help shape their marketing strategies, lead client conversations, and guide the team responsible for putting those strategies into action.
You'll work directly with SVM's founder and president on strategy, with the goal of taking the lead on most strategic development within your first year. You'll continue collaborating on major decisions, but you'll have real responsibility from the start.

About SVM Industrial Marketing
Buyers have changed. The playbook hasn't.
Today's B2B buyers research, compare, and shortlist suppliers, often without ever contacting them. Yet many manufacturers and distributors still rely on traditional sales approaches and disconnected marketing tactics to generate new business.
SVM is a revenue growth consultancy that helps these companies adapt. We connect marketing strategy, execution, and sales alignment to generate more qualified opportunities and turn them into sales.
We've specialized in this market for more than 30 years. We're a small, experienced team with long-standing trade association relationships and an active role in industry education. Our founder regularly speaks at industry events and is the author of the forthcoming book *The Hidden Pipeline*, about how industrial buyers find and choose suppliers.
--------------------------
What You'll Do
- Lead client relationships. Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients, lead meetings, understand their challenges, and become someone they count on for sound advice.
- Develop growth strategies. Work with SVM's founder to evaluate each client's business, customers, competition, and sales process. Identify opportunities, establish priorities, and recommend practical strategies.
- Guide implementation. Work with our marketing specialists to turn strategies into coordinated programs and keep the work focused on client objectives.
- Connect marketing to sales. Look beyond traffic and lead counts. Help clients improve lead quality, support their sales teams, and generate measurable business results.
- Measure and improve. Analyze performance, recognize what's working and what isn't, and recommend changes.
- Put AI to work intelligently. Use AI to improve research, analysis, and productivity while applying your own judgment. Help clients adapt to how AI is changing the way buyers find and evaluate suppliers.
You'll sometimes handle marketing work yourself and sometimes guide the specialists doing it. Either way, you need the practical knowledge and judgment to set clear direction, recognize excellent work, challenge work that falls short, and make sure everything supports the client's growth strategy.
This is a strategic, client-facing position, not a traditional account management or campaign execution role.
--------------------------
What We Are Looking For
Ideally, you have 3–5 years of B2B marketing experience, preferably at an agency or consultancy where you've worked directly with clients and contributed to marketing strategy.
You should bring
- A broad understanding of SEO, paid advertising, content marketing, websites, email marketing, CRM, and analytics.
- Experience leading client conversations, understanding business objectives, and presenting recommendations.
- An understanding of how marketing contributes to qualified leads, sales opportunities, and revenue.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools, with the judgment to recognize their limitations.
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
Beyond experience, three things matter especially to us
- You think strategically. You want to understand the underlying business problem before recommending marketing tactics.
- You take initiative. When something is unfamiliar, you research it, figure it out, and come prepared with recommendations rather than waiting for instructions.
- You work well with people. You can earn the confidence of a company president or sales leader, explain your thinking clearly, and remain open to feedback and better ideas.
Experience marketing to manufacturers and distributors is a plus, not a requirement. Strong B2B experience, sound judgment, and the ability to learn quickly matter more.
--------------------------
Why Join SVM?
- You'll have the opportunity to take on greater strategic responsibility while learning from people who have spent their careers helping manufacturers and distributors grow.
- You'll join a small team of experienced strategists and specialists, working with established manufacturers and distributors.
- You'll work directly with our founder, help shape client strategy, and have room to grow into a senior strategic leadership role.
--------------------------
